  Music is magic It is to me, anyway. Leaving aside the horrors conjured by the idea of a savage breast, music does indeed have the power to charm, enthrall, enchant, or otherwise lift one's spirits. And of course its all subjective, each of us has different ideas about what constitutes good music. We have our favorite genres, eras, style etc. that speak to our hearts. So what is special to me, may be nothing to the next listener. And that's a beautiful thing. Put as I've said elsewhere in this forum, (probably more than once), I pity the fool who's never been moved to tears by a bit of music. But every now and then a song will somehow, some way, find it's way into the general consciousness and become a thread in the fabric of the culture. It has that ineffable quality that Mr Congreve perceived so long ago. It speaks directly to so many that are drawn to the magic.
